derby ward councillors finance new play equipment for older children and teens in coronation park

There's one less reason for older children and teens to get bored this summer holidays with the opening of the new play area in Coronation Park. Designed with older children and young teens in mind, the new facilities include a zipwire; waltzer type roundabout; mini climbing wall and cradle swing.

Adrian welcomed the opening of the new facility saying, "Derby ward councillors surveyed local residents last autumn about three ideas for open space improvements from monies arising from new housing developments at the hospital and old Grammar School sites. All three ideas received good support. The improvements to benches at Victoria Park have already taken place and improvements at Ruff Wood are in the offing. I particularly welcome these facilities as I often receive views that there is not enough to amuse older children in Ormskirk."

“My children have already tried out the new play equipment and gave it the thumbs up. It was being well used when we went along. It extends the age range catered for by the play equipment in the park and continues the ongoing improvements over the last decade which have made Coronation Park a local facility in which we can have pride.”
