Boost for Ormskirk town centre as council supports Love Ormskirk

Love Ormskirk, the group comprising town centre retailers and businesses, has received the backing of the Conservative council, with a £20,000 grant from the Government's High Street Innovation Fund. Adrian presented the cheque to the group in the town centre last week.

Adrian said, “In the past it has often been difficult to encourage the town's traders to come together, but the Love Ormskirk team have enthusiastically engaged the support of very many of the shop owners in the town to come together to promote Ormskirk. At the council, we have been supporting them up to now through our small town centre promotions budget. When we received funding from the Conservative-led Government to support our town centres, we've been able to turn to Love Ormskirk and provide the funding for them to put some of their ideas into practice."

“Building on last month's Motorfest, we have the opportunity to bring visitors back to Ormskirk for return visits, and the promotions and events planned by Love Ormskirk should help do just that."

Adrian concluded,"If you haven't yet registered your support, and to receive details of special promotions, events and discounts, then sign up now at Love Ormskirk. Ormskirk needs the support of its residents as local shoppers if it is to remain a lively market town."
