Can you spare an hour or two to smarten up Ormskirk?

Adrian is appealing to local residents to join a community effort to smarten the street scene on an important approach road to the town.

Adrian has brought together Ormskirk Churches working under the Servolution banner along with the local school community at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School on Greetby Hill for a major volunteer painting task. The painting is planned for Saturday 21st and Saturday 28th April.

The task is to prepare and repaint the school railings which are adjacent to Greetby Hill. Currently the railings are rusting badly and are unsightly to those passing and living close by.

Adrian said,“I worked with the local churches when they had a volunteer day in the town last year and I will be picking up my paint brush on this occasion. However, this is an enormous task. Although we will have support from volunteers from the churches and from the school, if there are any local residents who can help, will they please get in touch with me on 01257 464813 or by email to adrian@adrianowens.com "

UPDATE 28 APRIL 2012 Local website Ormskirk GB covered the community effort here The railings facing Greetby Hill have now been completed and a route into the town smartened up as a result. Thank you to everyone - from churches, school and local community (including my two Derby ward councillor colleagues) who helped.
